Popular Software for Digital Scrapbooking

Here is a list of the most commonly used software. Most of these offer a free trial, so try them out before you buy them to see which one you prefer.

Adobe Photoshop CS 2

The possibilities are just about endless with Adobe Photoshop, but with it's steep learning curve (and steep price tag) it may not be the best answer if you are just starting out. If you plan to become involved in other aspects of graphic design or eventually design your own digital scrapbook kits, you may want to consider learning Photoshop, as it is the standard of the graphic design industry. For creating scrapbook pages, a better choice might be one of the other programs listed below.

If you decide you'd like to learn Photoshop, you can usually purchase older versions, such as Photoshop CS or Photoshop 7, for much less. However, do not try to use any version lower than Photoshop 7 if you plan to use pre-made digital scrapbooking kits & elements because it will not read the .png files properly.
